Nokia problem is that the Cell Phone Carriers hate Microsoft (hate Skype worse), MS owns Skype.
Authored by: jvillain on Sunday, May 06 2012 @ 11:18 AM EDT
Worse than that, what carrier wants to be selling Nokia phones when they have no
idea how long Nokia will be around to do support. They could end up holding the
bag. There are lots of other high margin phones on the market there is really no
burning need for MS/Nokia.

If Nokia was gaining market share in any segment it might be worth the gamble.
But Nokia went from 5% to 3% of the smart phone market which is where they were
supposed to kick butt. Who wants to train their entire sales force for a product
like that?

Nonsense. Why would carriers avoid WP7 because of the terrible skype
implementation and at the same time not avoid android or iOS which actually have
*working* skype apps?

Here in the UK, the Three [www.three.co.uk] Network has been using Skype and
their support for it as a selling point.

It is sad that my HTC Sensation isn't supported by their version of Skype. (It
works fine on iPhones and many Samsung Androids).
I have downloaded the Skype app for my phone and it works fine apart from
send/receiving files.
