Google ate my homework

>Yes people can switch in seconds to competition. But it
is still an effort, and the cost of this effort has to be
calculated in the end price.

I spent yesterday, and today restoring to factory settings, a laptop that runs
Win7. (Twice, because the first time it was pwned before I finished installing
the security software.)

Yesterday, the home page for MIE9 was changed at least six times, by various
programs I was installing, and uninstalling. (Uninstalling one of the pieces of
malware I found, caused the home page to change.) I also noticed at least six
different search engines attempting to be installed on MIE9.

Today, I was offered three different search engines for MIE9, and two different
home pages. I would have left it at Bing, but for the fact that Bing on both
Firefox and MIE9 doesn't work with the A11Y software that is required by the
user. (If it was my system, I would have installed Snow Linux 2.0.)

With all the junk out there that tries to change user settings, I don't see it
requiring much effort by users to change from Google, or Bing, to something
else.
