Barnes & Noble Nook not moving to Windows RT
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, June 18 2012 @ 12:45 PM EDT

The news yesterday and this morning is abuzz with Microsoft's big announcement that they and B&N would be moving the Nook to Windows RT and away from Android.

This would have been bad for many Android developers as well as B&N's customers. The Nook Shop is one of the best curated Android markets, and if you have apps in there is is a significant revenue stream.

Customers that have purchased Nook apps would have been severely disappointed to find out their apps wouldn't run on the Windows platform either.

But, it looks like B&N have disavowed any move to replace the Android based Nook Color and Nook Tablet with a Microsoft Windows RT based Nook.

"I can say that Charles Carreon remains a petulant, amoral, censorious
douchebag without violating his trademark because that's nominative, not
commercial."

iPad software just as buggy...
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, June 18 2012 @ 07:58 PM EDT
After disuse for a year or two, basic applications (iBooks, for example) didn't
work with the Apple store.

So, upgrade iOS....now these apps won't even open...no message, just a blink.

Go to store to upgrade...still wants my mother's AppleID, no apparent way to
change it. Where to delete an App? That finally does it...delete the app and
re-install, then it no longer thinks it's my mother's app.

And they left the illustrations out on the free editions...of Alice in
Wonderland!

Definitely, we need the freedom to hack....

In the news picks ...That died yesterday. Linux was invented in Finland by Linus
Torvalds, our Bill Gates of Finland so to speak. ...

With out the un-sane greed and un-wholsome ego. Linus Torvalds gave the world a
gift. Linux.

With insane greed and massive self aggrandizing ego. Gill Gates lied cheated
and stole his way to wealth, cursing the world with his half baked , half
stolen, half borrowed, operating system. Windows.

The reseacher's name jumped out instantly, but this isn't the cheap, dependably-wrong shill that we've all learned to disrespect so completely.
