I'm almost glad I'm unemployed at the moment. At least I won't have my daily
grind made a living hell by the chaos of the Olympics.
I'm *just* far enough away for it not to impact directly on me. Although, having
had to spend a load of time at our local hospital (Queen Elizabeth) with my
daughter, I pity the poor souls who will need to go there over the Olympic
period. What with roads closed, access near impossible, and about three Olympic
stadia on the parkland next door, it's going to be an absolute nightmare ...
And how much work preparing for the Olympics has gone to foreigners, and thus
made precious little impact on the lives of the people displaced for the Games?
Colour me cynical, but I doubt the Olympics have done anything for the people
who've had to put up with it happening in their back yard.
Cheers,
