<pedantry>
I'd like to see you "install" the basic software you would need
(things like the BIOS), without there already being software there to do the job
(like the BIOS).
</ pedantry>
A computer with no software is *very* useful (why else would people buy them?
To use your own argument). You can make it do all sorts of stuff. Just like
you can tell your microwave that those things on its scale are potatoes, and you
want them nicely cooked. Or putting your car in first tells it you want to go
forwards slowly.
Software doesn't improve a computer any more than a cookbook improves an oven.
Why are you refusing to understand this?
Computers are not Magic.
Software is a series of instructions.
Nothing more.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Except that this crowd of people are mathematicians.
If you jump from the problem to the solution without giving your reasoning, then
you will be asked to PROVE IT, which you seem incapable of.
And if you can't prove it, the only possible logical conclusion is that what you
say is false.
As I said, if your computer comes WITHOUT software, how are you going to install
your word processor?
Cheers,
