"No need to worry about Apple trademarking it"
because
"trademarks have to be used in commerce"
Do you really think that would stop Apple?
All that means, is if Apple should register
the mark to prevent others from using it,
that should others use that mark, that Apple
will eventually sue them over a mark that Apple
does not even use. While it may well be the
case that if the non-Apple party has enough
cash to pay for lawyers, that Apple will eventually
lose ... it will cost everyone. And if the
non-Apple party does NOT have enough cash,
then Apple just steamrollers them and wins.
I think it makes much more sense to register
the trademark BEFORE Apple tries to snatch
it away. After what we have seen here, I don't
trust Apple not even one tiny little bit.
Isn't it quite cheap to register a mark?
I would almost be tempted to do it myself,
and I would offer it to any and all to use for
a pittance. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
