A little OT, but almost topical for "look both ways"
Authored by: N_au on Friday, September 14 2012 @ 10:12 AM EDT
I have seen how easy tthose low loaders get stuck. One was coming out
of a side street on to the main road thru my town just south of the
border once. The middle of the road had a high crown and once the
truck got over the hump the trailer hit the road and it was stuck. Once
it lost traction there was not enough weight on the driving wheels to
keep going forward. However he was able to finally get it to go back
and come at the corner at more of an angle and made it around.

I live in the area, and have driven across that crossing. No truck with a
trailer has any business going across that crossing. I would be hesitant to go
across that crossing in a car with a trailer.

Luckily there were no deaths, and I hope this serves as a cautionary tale to
drivers everywhere.
