Exactly, could be... now, the only missing factor is the "key" or
"keys", and different storage locations for different puposed
responses. (explaining why we see activity in different areas of the brain).
Remember, everything is a motor skill, even learning.
So, it must be remembered, and how it is, is realtive most likely to the same
switching, if nature adopted it as a building block for how the CPU (mind)
related to what it had to process and adapt to)?

Think of the nuron connections to the axons. These aren't binary connectors.
It's a many to many relationship where a pulse comes in via many connections
and a pulse is sent out via many connections.
In my humble opinion it
really is closer to a 3 dimensional messaging system then a 2 dimensional
messaging system.
To think of how the brain works as binary is to
seriously underestimate it's capabilities. It truly is a marvel of
nature.
