exactly 3, since real pi is from 'those professor types'.
Or how about all the *elected* legislators who have been
convinced over the years (once by a high school student as
part of a science fair) to treat 'dihydrogen monoxide' as a
controlled substance or ban it (that's *water*, for those of
you following along at home <grin> ).
BTW, 'gnostic' is not an insult, although you attempted to
use it as one here. It means pertaining to knowledge, and
knowledge is almost always a good thing.
How attitudes affect actions taken on knowledge is a
different story. This latter also appears to be your
objection to judges not being elected...that being judges'
actions that flout 'common sense' and 'community standards'.
Just remember that slavery, lack of women's suffrage, and
Prohibition were once classified as 'common sense' and
