Microsoft & RIM
Authored by: kuroshima on Saturday, November 03 2012 @ 04:46 PM EDT
Well, RIM is sinking, having been late to embrace the new
paradigm in smartphones. They offer unmatched hardware
keyboards in a keyboardless smartphone era. They have always
been friendly to Microsoft, building their products and
services to seamlessly mesh with the Microsoft products and
services. It's been hinted many times that RIM is
potentially for sale, though all the information comes from
the rumor mill, and so is mere hearsay. A lot of brides have
been proposed for the failing company, everything from
Microsoft to Samsung.

Personally, I can see Microsoft being interested in RIM's
management stack, it would complement their offerings and
allow them to provide an all in one solution. Howeser, I
don't see a future for RIM under the Microsoft umbrella.
Nokis is just the last example of failing Microsoft
partnerships, that nearly always end up badly for the
"partner"
