I disagree, 'cos I think that most, if not all, of the other law blawgs
competing are written by attorneys for other attorneys to read and/or comment
on.
The major differentiating factor here is that Groklaw was designed from the
ground up to provide a venue for an educational exposure to the legal system(s)
and the technology sector for non lawyers by providing case studies and
commentary thereon.
Further, Groklaw provides for feedback from its readers to debunk the FUD that
surrounds the parasites that try to justify their existence by claiming illusory
rights that they believe that they unilaterally own and can control through some
undefined blunt instrument commonly known as 'Intellectual Property'.
Furthermore, Groklaw does not rely on clients, kudos amongst its peers, nor the
outcome of the reported cases for its continued existence. Groklaw is more than
a blawg, it is a community.
With over 20,000 registered members I am surprised that the vote count has only
reached 200, or thereabouts.
I guess I should be grateful to SCOG for repeatedly loading and discharging
their footgun, else how would Groklaw have been conceived?
YMMV
