It talks about patenting software innovations and not inventions.
It refers to software patents whereas there are none. All the patents used to
attack software writers are patents on the abstract functions in the patent
claims. You can only tell the abstract functions are about software by the
inclusion of phrases like 'a system comprising a computer with memory' and 'a
touchscreen'.

The author failed to follow his own arguments into the conclusion.
At the first page he states the the goal of patents is to make people do R&D
and disclose the results. At his last topic he states that research is too
expensive, thus nobody does it.
Well, if nobody researches, then R&D and disclosure are useless.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
