Really? Not one of you care that lives were saved?

From the comments section of the article:

"Utah has had armed teachers now for TEN years. Didn't know
that, did you? No problems. No crazies and no killings."

Perhaps that's a better solution after all.

Bogus argument.

People who are violent and want to kill other people will just use something
else.

What's to stop him from driving his car onto the school playground and running
kids down?

What's to stop him from walking into school with a backpack full of molitov
cocktails and throwing them into overcrowded classrooms from the hallway? Know
how much damage and lives you can ruin in 60 seconds like that?

What's to stop him from volunteering in the cafeteria and pouring rat poison
into morning oatmeal?

We need to stop focusing on the means, and move to identifying people earlier
who have mental issues and giving them the help they need, or if they can't be
helped, locking them away for their own and everyone else's safety. Once a mind
has progressed to the point of wanting to commit mass murder, they will find a
way, and they'll find a way that kills many people. The poison in the oatmeal
would kill a lot more kids than the guns did, same for the car on the
playground. Does anyone really think that Lanza would have given up on his plan
of mass murder if he couldn't kill someone and take their guns? Seriously?

Violent demented people will still be violent demented people

Remember, this guy was considered a genius.

I can think of many other ways he could have accomplished what he did. Some ways
don't even require entering the school.

I'm sure he would have found another way. Rather than focusing on treating the
means, we should actually focus on figuring out the cause and the signs or
symptoms leading to the behaviour, and treat them? Not we need take just one
single blindered approach.
