Link. Seems the shills have taken
the night off, and the comments are
mostly authentic
complaints about Windows 8, like the
following...

I am not a
computer person. I just have used Windows system
for over 20 years at work and
also have had several personal
computers run different Windows system for
years. When I
learned the newly introduced SurfacePro some time ago, I was
very impressed by the brilliant design by a software company
who has never
cared the quality of the hardware on which its
bulky software is
delivered.
When I have a chance a few days ago, I went to Bestbuy and
experienced it for half a hour and feels very lost by the
end. What a
confusing mixture of mouse, touch screen, and
keyboard. On the tablet surface
it seems rational to have
touch screen and that is what makes a tablet a
tablet.
However, It feel very ridiculous to have it on laptop and
desktop.
First of all, it makes you very tired to use touch function
in a vertical positioned screen two feet away you. When you
actually use it,
the software design itself will immediately
drive you nuts. Every time when you
have to drop your mouse
and use your finger to commend the onscreen programs
you
feel the frustration. After a while, when you have to switch
back to mouse
or trackpad to execute a few commend and
forced to switch back to onscreen
touch again, you feel very
annoyed and can't help to wondering how stupid that
actually
is.
To put it in short, after the half hour I spend there, I
still have no idea where to find all the programs that I
have used for years.
My 9 years old son, who is with me that
day, also couldn't figure out how to
open, play, and close
the few kid game apps available on the computer. We are
both
lost by the end, and I feel strongly that Microsoft is also
lost in its
Windows8. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Link. Features a big half-page ad for
the Surface along
side an article talking about Microsoft's latest OS...
But the changes have disappointed a lot of
reviewers and
interface design experts, who have focused in
particular on the potentially
confusing coexistence of the
new tile interface alongside the old desktop
one.
Interesting to see an honest article along side a big
Microsoft ad. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
