What you had BT?
Authored by: Wol on Tuesday, January 29 2013 @ 05:49 AM EST
It was actually a very good pay-as-you-deal. The entire family had them and
calls between phones on that plan were dirt-cheap. Ten years ago OR MORE and
calls were 5p/min for voice! Get the wrong plan and you can easily pay 40p/50p
even today!

I still stick with BT. I know they can be naff, but for basic phone service,
they're actually one of the cheapest. Yes you can get phone service cheaper
elsewhere, but not on its own - you have to pay for other premium services I
don't want.

The only thing that annoys me, is I've just switched broadband from Demon to BT.
Demon cut their charges to new customers and left their old customers paying the
old high prices ... bad bad Demon PR. So I switched on principle. Except Demon
would have cut their price in half to keep me, and they were unlimited. BT -
well, I'm on the verge of busting the cap and having to pay extra which
increases the bill to what it was at Demon :-(

Cheers,
Wol
