The lesser of two evils...
Authored by: hedronist on Thursday, February 14 2013 @ 04:03 PM EST
Agreed. But the evils are inherent in the system. An adversarial system where
there is relatively little downside for the attacker will naturally lead to this
type of self-serving behavior. My understanding is that there is an entire
branch of bacteriology devoted to small plaintiff attorneys.

Had Tim been a little more mercenary it would have been trivial for him to stoke
my rage and thereby profit from it. Instead, we got back to business, made some
money, and I effectively retired to Sonoma County at the age of 44.

If Ellison had retired at 44, it would have been in 1988; for Jobs it would have
been in 1999. Maybe things wouild look different ... eh, probably not.
