This is where the cloud leads you

It's a freedom issue. And most people will gladly hand over
control of their data because they don't want to be bothered
to learn how to keep it secure themselves, so they have no
security.

Power vs. Ease of use on a much grander scale.

We need to start teaching computing concepts in elementary
school. It is badly needed. We now have about one billion
computer experts, and about one million people who actually
know what's going on below the menus. A little knowledge is
a dangerous thing.

Where is Adobe's Cloud?
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, February 14 2013 @ 02:00 PM EST
Australia is at the far end of long transoceanic cables.
1. Latency
2. Contention with classic voice and TV traffic
3. Perils on the deep

When a company ignores its customers' demands for standalone
software, this has to be the most blatant invitation I've seen in
a while for crackers to supply the black market.

The Cloud ... it's better than DRM
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, February 14 2013 @ 02:36 PM EST

As long as your data is in the cloud, it is easy for a company to control access.

With DRM, your data is on your computer. Ultimately, the user controls their own computer, no matter how much the big companies may wish otherwise.
