Some people do cope with a struggle through laughter, although I don't think the
OP was taking that approach. Many people will use strokes, gunshots, heart
attacks in a joking fashion without stopping to think about it too deeply.
Remember the judge in the Novell case? That doesn't make it right. Then again,
I don't fault the OP; he was certainly not going out of his/her way to try to
offend.
While some people going through a difficult event use humor to help deal with
the ordeal...and sometimes in what would otherwise be seen as a callous
manner... some others are more sensitive. That's not the fault of the
sensitive, though; most of us have our issues that we just can't view from a
disconnected perspective or especially with a smile.
