Tactics of education
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, March 15 2013 @ 03:25 PM EDT

Yup - therein lies quite the conundrum. Different people will more readily understand one educational technique over another.

To attempt to build a "one size fits all" approach and the apply it to everyone will - by the very nature of being different - cause some who might otherwise understand to not be able to understand.

Hence why I even critized myself. To come out an clearly state "software is abstract" will work for some while others need to read various explanations and come to that conclusion themselves.

My only concern: Software IS Abstract
Authored by: PJ on Friday, March 15 2013 @ 06:27 PM EDT
If someone can write up a clear and simple
sentence that doesn't distort, we can add it.

I just can't think of where or how. Making
something simple that started out complex is
a lot harder (esp. if it's not your field of
expertise and you are afraid to introduce
error as a result) than starting out simple
and making something more complex.

But if you see a way, I agree that stating that
more clearly would be excellent. Can you guys
give it a try? This doesn't need to be all
complex. Or all simple. It can be both. Complex
for those who get it and simple for those whose
eyes glaze over.
