I wonder what applications they have in mind. Even at 200,000 km/s, you could
circle the earth five times in a second, comparable to copper (ignoring repeater
delays) and much faster than using satellites.

you can put an end to SW patents easily:
patents are SUPPOSED to be public knowledge of you to recreate the invention.
make ALL patent suit records UNSEALABLE since they are supposed to be in the
public database anyhow.
the crApple WORM and similar SLEAZE will not bother bringing suit if they KNOW
