But they don't seem to be in full compliance

The notice does not comply with the court's order to state that their previous
effort was not true. It is improbable that they'll get another chance.

Really strange to see an anonymous "advertisement"
Authored by: Gringo_ on Friday, November 02 2012 @ 11:01 AM EDT

Have you ever seen an anonymous advertisement in a journal before? I have only seen such a thing when it is obvious who the sponsor was, like when it is a public notice presented by the journal itself, and I am not sure I really recall that.

This is another thumb up your nose from Apple to the judge, no doubt about it. Publishing that anonymously neutralizes the purpose of the announcement, which is supposed to be a clarification from Apple. What is the matter with those people??? They had an opportunity here to earn some respect, if they went the other direction. For example, if it were me I would not only publish what I was ordered, in both spirit and letter, but go beyond that and apologize for my earlier statement, saying I was sorry I published something that could be taken as disrespectful to both the court and the public, like...

"Apple would like to apologize for their earlier statement. Carried away by our enthusiasm to present our point of view, in hindsight now we realize we demonstrated a lack of respect for the court and the general public. Apple now sincerely regrets this and would like to apologize to all."

Perhaps it would be helpful to Apple if we make further suggestion in this vain...

That's more like it...

... as far as the first posting Apple should have provided goes.

At the very least: that's the kind of statement I was originally expecting. Whether it's sufficient to meet the purpose for the ruling I can't say. That decision will be up to the Court.
