UK vs England and Wales
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, November 02 2012 @ 03:55 AM EDT
Technically it's correct to say that the judges are IN the UK, just as it would
be correct to say that (for example) Maryland judges are IN the USA.

But what goes on in a court in England no more affects me in Scotland than a
Maryland judgement would affect someone in Delaware.

I think you'd be careful not to give the impression that a US State judgement
applied across the USA, so perhaps the same consideration could be applied when
discussing judgements within the United Kingdom.

The Register graphic from The Guardian not the Financial Times

The image of Apple's advert on The Register's page is from The Guardian rather
than the Financial Times. The wording is presumably the same in both.
