documention won't help Oracle's ultimate goals
Authored by: xtifr on Saturday, April 21 2012 @ 05:00 AM EDT
Oracle really wants to get money out of Android, going forward, and/or to force
Google to replace Android with JavaME (which, again, involves paying Oracle
forever). Proving infringement for the documentation won't help them with that
one bit, because the documentation isn't part of Android, and isn't installed on
all those phones out there. No per-phone payments for Oracle.

But it may help the management when the stockholders come asking, "why on
earth did you start this suit?" They may not get rich, but at least they'll
save face. :)
