Everyone is arguing about the coverage of the protection that copyright provides
and can extend to, when the conclusion is really, 'Ah! Yes, you are right, but
your protection is only thin, my son, and your bubble I am afraid, has burst.

Oracle point to their "work" and effort, they drag up all their
licenses, the ip Grants, their tools, their versions, and they pick up the
Specification and say "Here it is. It's all in here, and whatever they say,
look at this, structure, selection and organisation remember this, this is
ours.
Then they point to Googles Book and yell "Substantial Similarity"
Then they point to Googles Code and yell "Exact copy"
I think they've just muddled up their standards and help it along when they say
API but mean SSO, easy mistake to make.
