And as unfortunate as it is, the primary force for such change comes in the
form of negative reinforcement. In other words:
The individual needs to
receive some form of punishment.
As sad as it is, I think the bulk of
society is like that. And with Corporations it's even worse because it's all
about bottom line costs. And just because they're actually punished, doesn't
mean they'll change.
So for BSF and clients to change that
behavior:
They must be held accountable by Law! And in more ways then just
loosing their court case.
And even then, when they receive punishments in
the form of financial sanctions... some still choose to insist they've done
nothing wrong:
Righthaven!
Why do I think the bulk of society is like
that? Personal experience.
There's even been situations where I have the
foresight to point out to someone entering a particular relationship with me
what they shouldn't do and what the consequences of such behavior will be. As
mind-boggling as it is, it's surprising the percentage of people in those
situations who actually do what I warned them not to. A few of those even try
after that to enter further relationships and I don't budge.
An example
was a supposed friend who borrowed some funds. I made clear if he abused that,
he'd be completely cut off on any funds whatsoever. He abused, I made it clear
there would only ever be advice, never any money anymore. Yet for a couple
years after that... every couple months he asked if he could borrow. I pointed
out the situation and reminded him.
As I said: mind-boggling!
