That was only somewhat helpful. Here I am completing your examples...

java.lang.String
Idea, group some functions together that manage sequences of characters.
java.lang.array
Idea: some where to store bunches of stuff for sequential, indexed access.
java.nio.Buffer
Idea: temporarily store an arbitrary unit of data
java.util.ShortBuffer
Idea: temporarily store an arbitrary number of 16 bit words
java.util.LongBuffer
Idea: temporarily store an arbitrary number of 32 bit words
java.util.FloatBuffer
Idea: temporarily store an arbitrary number of 32 bit floating point values

This shows the point. There IS NO structure or organization to the string
object. It is a collection of all the string functions that you find in any
modern computer language. This is nothing more than an alphabetical list of
common string operations. What is there to protect by copyright?
Where is the evidence in the trial that there is any protectable SSO in these
class files?
