...And told them that Florian have absolutely no credibillity in our community,
as well as providing a few links. I did my best to do it politely, and
recommended that they checked alternative sources.
The Beeb replied in a rather aggrivated way. F.M. "Had delivered good
service and precise analysis" (or something to that effect) to them, and
they were very happy about it. VERY!!!1!
The next thing they posted, they still quoted F.M., but added as an afterthought
that he seemed to work, or had worked for Microsoft.
After that, i have not seen F.M. quoted directly, but a few 'tech' articles have
sounded a lot like his usual spin.
Interesting. Imagine that BBC after each WWII Battle-of-Britain report would
have let Lord Haw-Haw have the final word and put his spin on it. Talk about
'credible'.
Even so, i cannot really say it comes as a chok. BBC was doing the utmost to
keep F/OSS users away from their services, with old MS-hands employed to
implement their digitalization.
The same thing happened at DR, the Danish National public service tv channel,
btw. Took a lot of pressure before they reluctently started opening. They even
tried to store old tv and radio programs in MS formats with DRM...[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
