So many folk have said that they registered a compilation and that they should
have registered a collection.
I don't think it works like that. I think you can register a collection or an
individual copyright work and that's the end to it.
As far as I can see, Sun registered the Java SE collection correctly on the form
(it actually took two goes) and were awarded a signed certificate of
registration.

They are properly registered, per se. But they are improperly registered for
the purpose Oracle is suing over (that is the whole point Google brought up).
