Ubuntu is great product. We all know it is standing on the
shoulders of giants like Debian. The problem that Ubuntu is
solving is different than Debian.
Unity have come a long way from the beginning. Try the new
version before judging. I'm using it at home and at work.
Perfect for my needs as programmer.
Im failing to see why you could not configure Ubuntu in same
way than you configure Debian? Ubuntu has Unity as default
desktop environment, but it allows you to use others as
well. So your burst of hatred is kind of moot. And specially
so as you state you prefer something a little more
configurable. Implying your are willing to do some
configuring.
