The Java Classpath structure is nothing more than a compound name or reference,
and is analogous to names and references used elsewhere which have never been
copyrightable either.
for example java.io.File is a heirarchical name and is exactly analogous to
heirarchical names/references for identifying people. In the context of the
java.io package the class would be called File.
In the same way, in the context of family, Sam Malone of 22 Acacia Drive, Huston
Texas would be called "Sam". In the context of his office he might be
called "Sam Malone". In a global context he would be called "Sam
Malone of 22 Acacia Drive, Huston Texas".
Now, could Oracle sue for the copyright for use of Sam's name or any part of
Sam's name path heirarchy used to refer to Sam, without being laughed out of
court? The answer is no.
