Social network snooping of non-members isn't that far from determining the make
and colour of the motor vehicle one drives, based upon the TV shows that one
watches. Something that was first explored back in the 1970's.
If you want scary, consider that simply by browsing Facebook, and running a
couple of dumb AI programs, one can obtain name, social security number, and
date of birth (year, month, day) for roughly 10% of the people on FaceBook.
Those dumb AI programs use data on Facebook, and in their internal database, to
obtain that information.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

The RequestPolicy plugin allows you to tell Firefox to not
even send a request to the untrusted sites, although there may
be a loophole when printing and the RequestPolicy UI is about
5 years behind NoScript.
