I am curious too. I think you should address him on Twitter.
Maybe we might
all get a personal insight and an alternative
opinion on the whole "sliming"
issue on his own
candid
blog.
It's interesting that Gosling was at Google briefly and
important to
keep that in mind as well as we read his bitter
statement. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Just noticed this: @openJonathan said:
Goog slimed Sun w/Harmony. Like Orcl
slimed Sun w/ #Linux,
then slimed #RedHat w/OEL. Capitalism's so
inconvenient.

He's not going to comment on anything like that
now. After the trial is over, ask him then.
But his testimony at trial pretty much covered
this anyway. Read our reporter's notes for that
day.
I've added to the title of each article about the
trial the names of the witnesses that day. So
it's all easier to find.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Definitely rich to hear Gosling talk about "sliming" Java, when he's
the one who created a proprietary, incompatible fork of Emacs, whose descendent
is still causing problems and headaches for Emacs app developers today.
Doubly ironic when you consider how much Gosling's excuses for creating
"gosmacs" resemble Google's reasons for creating Android.
