That is why this really needs to be settled, that APIs are not copyrightable,
and the judge has mostly so far just passed the buck here. This shouldn't even
have been an issue. He should have used previous precedent, but he's bound to
make new law here, or at least alter the existing precedent by leaving a
undecided issue allowing doubt of the applicability of the filtration rule on
APIs. APIs are the backbone upon which modern coding happens.

Things were allowed to pass through without decision that should not have and
while I like this judge, mostly, he badly flubbed this one.
