I agree. I think many in the US are forgetting at just how potentially mobile
software is as an industry. There is no plant or machinery. All you need is
people and an internet connection. You might lose some good people in a move,
but there are good programmers all around the world. It is an industry that
could move overnight if it had to.
Coping with patents is bad enough. If APIs were copyrighted then how could you
possibly stay in business writing software in the US. Way to kill an industry
overnight.
I'm sure such a decision would be reversed. But the legal system moves at a
glacial pace compared to the world of tech. It could take years for SCOTUS to
sort things out. How long do you think it would take software companies to
