Just because two things have similarities, that doesn't mean they're identical. The whole point of distinguishing is to find the differences. Which seems to be what OP did, or at least tried to do.

Your argument for "sequence" makes no sense, in any case. There's nothing inherently alphabetical about a list of interfaces or a list of butterflies. In fact, in the case of butterflies, I'd expect the structure to be sequenced cladistically, rather than alphabetically, which is purely functional, and has no equivalent in APIs. As for the APIs, the only sequence I see there is in the arguments to methods. There's no inherent inter-method sequence, alphabetical or otherwise.
