This is *not* the same as scarfing Jim's JPGs or
narrative (which
are portectable).
While the stamps themselves may be protected by
copyright, that copyright would be held by the US Postal Service. "Jim" would hold no
copyright on his JPGs (and may have infringed on the USPS copyrights in creating them).[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Yes, I can see the argument that the navigation aspect is functional and not
protectable creative expression.
I think it would still have to go to a jury to decide on the facts of the case.
Oracle would be arguing that putting the Beatles performances under the primary
category of 'British' rather than 'Pop' would be a creative expression decision.
