Slashdot spreads fud

Oh, and on this story in particular, it seems that there's a lot of suspicious activity going on (accounts with weirdly biased commenting history and suspiciously similar UIDs (meaning they were registered close in time) agreeing with each other, etc.). There are other people trying to point out what's going on, but it seems unlikely that the story will have a coherent discussion when people are trying to inject this much noise.

It's unclear quite who the astroturfers are astroturfing for (they seem to be anti-Google, but there are any number of explanations for astroturfers doing that; Slashdotters often assume Microsoft is behind everything, incidentally, and I have no idea whether they're right in this case or not). But their presence is unwelcome and worrying.

SCO didn't have the law on its side.

Let's not get foggy.
