I thought it was just the range check on the Timsort. Not the timsort itself.
Just how expressive can a range check be?
How creative?
Just how many ways are their to do a range check?
Is a value between some minimum and maximum bounds?
Just how copyright protectable is that?

I'd guess that it will be fairly little:
Judge: "This borders on the ridiculous. Now you are changing your tune
(adding to the agreed-upon statutory damages). Based on 9 lines of copying out
of 15 million? That would ge a big, big stretch."
9 lines, already removed from ICS, out of 15 million.
Maybe it will be sufficient to buy Oracle a happy meal...[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
