To be fair, there is only so much you can do in 140 characters. In addition, it
is
important to remember that tweeting live and fast is entirely different from a
detailed
report taking and transcription. We wouldn't have any idea what was going on in
court in real time if it were not for the tweets.
While the reports here are excellent and the reporters need to be saluted and
appreciated for their massive and supremely wonderful effort, it is also not
fair to
weigh the reports and tweets in the same balance or belittle their contribution
to this
case.
Media, as we know it, is evolving. I think of tweeting as a modern day
equivalent of
those sports commentaries. Commentaries, by their nature, always add personal
flair
to the events and sometimes do get things wrong. I remember many humorous
apologies for who actually made the catch or who scored the goal etc. in major
cricket
