Don't forget that some user groups also use fairly complex terminology, so when
creating software for them to use you must learn some of their vocabulary as
well.
When I started working in flight ops for an airline out of school, it took quite
a while to get the hang of that aspect of the job. I already knew the tech for
the most part, but it still took us 6-12 months to bring people up to speed
because of the airline context. OOOI Times. Downline sections. Nose numbers
versus tail numbers. EPR versus N1. ATOG versus XTOG, ULDs, fixes and vectors.
NOTAMS. SA weather versus METAR. Fun stuff. :)
