I did some work on a patent that is now pending,
and although the "translation to patentese"
made it aesthetically ugly, the claims were actually
pretty good and the summary and details were almost
exactly what I wrote. I was happy...

As I keep saying, just call the alleged inventor (sorry, but if the lawyers
wrote the patent then how can he have invented what they wrote) into court, and
ask him point blank "do you understand the wording of the patent as
actually granted? Did you need a lawyer to help you understand it, or is it
pretty much how you would describe your invention in your own words?"
As soon as the inventor says he needed a lawyer to understand what was actually
written, you're well on the way to getting the patent declared unlawful.
