Would it be possible to write a generaic J2ME-launcher for android?
ie. a wrapper for java's main function that does the bare minimum to start the
application within android's framework.
And the question is then, how many J2ME programs will work flawlessly when run

For legal purposes, will the judge care about the difference between programs
and libraries? I think not. He will note the difference for accuracy, but the
issue of compatibility applies to libraries just the same as for programs, and
perhaps even more so.

A Java program can have multiple entry points. (People put main() in more than
one class all the time for testing.) I strongly suspect, although don't know for
certain, that if you put an Android entry point and J2SE entry point in the same
program, J2SE would ignore the Android entry point and vice versa.

It depends on how you define "program".
If you define it as a JAR with a manifest that declares a class that has a
'public static main' function, then No.
If you define it as a JAR with compiled classes, then Probably.

main() is not the only way to run a Java program. A Servlet is an example of a
program running in a servlet container like Tomcat. I would say 90% of the
worlds Java code is run in a war/jar/ear format on a servlet container.
As for J2SE programs running on Android, the question is how you define it. What
"is" is. rangeCheck obviously runs on both. A Java program can run as
a Daemon on Linux, so sure, at source code level.
The copyright question as addressed by Oracle is misleading. AFAIK the question
is not what tools Android and Java use to compile and package the same code. But
rather, can I take the 37 Java API's as defined by the JavaDoc on the Oracle
site, to write code that can be compiled and run separately by each vendors
tools on the target CPU. A generic program in other words. And the answer is
