A European friend visited a couple years ago. She wanted to visit a few places
around the USA, but I had to remind her just how large the USA is. The total of
the drive times between the places she wanted to see was longer than the daytime
time of her whole trip. This was assuming 60MPH average speed between
destinations. Any ways she picked a few must sees from her list, and I inserted
a few more along our path and we had a blast and put 5500 miles on my truck and
only visited 10 states. One of those states was just barely visited as we
stopped at 4 corners and we both put out foot into all 4 states at once. Two
other states were driven through as fast as we could, sorry Iowa, and Nebraska.
I only remember hearing a Native American language at a couple of the trading
posts in AZ, Mexican derived Spanish at a couple stores down south, and a number
of different languages in Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Glacier
National Parks. At all places our business was conducted in English. Yeah, I'm
not surprised Americans don't bother much with multiple languages. For me it's
over 1100 miles from my home to the closest majority non English speaking
regions. Yeah I learned both French and Spanish in HS and college, but do I
ever get to use them, no. It's been 3 decades since I've used either of them
and that includes a couple years when I was spending every other week in Ottawa,
Canada.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

The dev will be done using metric units.
The majority in the US only understand Imperial units and not proper ones at
that. (Pint & Gallon).

Ubuntu & 'apt-get' are not the answer to Life, The Universe & Everything which
is of course, "42" or is it 1.618?
