What was it I said exactly to set you off that could even be slightly
construed as my "advocation of slavery".
Of course.. you didn't say I
said that. But you do speak quite highly against slavery as though I said
something rather naughty. I'm just curious what, exactly, it was I said or that
you perceived me to have said beyond the context of simply pointing
out:
When people hear Communist, they react strongly!
BTW: your
response proves that point :)
To make such a statement without speaking
to the pros and cons of taking a position is simply stating what I view as a
normal response from the average person.
I could just have easily made a
specific statement as:
When you have a nice sunny day, blue skies, little
puffy clouds, nice green plant life.... people tend to not want to be at
work!
It's just as valid... but I'm sure you wouldn't automatically speak
as though you're insinuating I advocated something like slavery.
Caveat -
Just to clarify my position on slavery: Even though I live in a Country whose
Laws have done away with Capital Punishment, I lean in the direction of
International Laws which still carry the death penalty for Human Rights
Violations - at least, and I could easily be mistaken, I believe International
Laws still carry that penalty.
Philosophically speaking:
Evil is a
very strong word. And I believe to enslave another human being is the worst
thing any human can do to another. As a result, if anyone is going to be
classified as evil, it should be those willing to perform the worst. And bottom
line is: Evil has earned the right to be destroyed so Society is better
protected from the harm Evil will cause.
