All systems of mathematics have been shown as equivalent.
They just describe things in a different way.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

The rules already exist, we just haven't found them all yet. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Every theorem and algorithm in math has always existed, in some sense;
mathematics are abstract truths about abstract artificial worlds.
On the other hand, people never bothered to think about those artificial worlds
for a long time. The *axioms* you choose for your mathematical system are in
some sense *invented*, and in that sense math is invented. The resulting
theorems and algorithms are then *discovered*.
I would say that axioms are invented and the rest of math is discovered.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
