As I understand (and I should probably be viewed as having the knowledge of a
2 year old on this particular topic) the Second Law boils down to:
1) You
can not harvest 100% of the energy during transfer - there is always at least a
little bit of loss of the energy into another form
2) It is not
possible for energy to flow from something with less energy to something with
more
3) Entropy - I'm lost on this one
So if it does infringe,
it's either points 2 or 3. This is under the assumption a secondary heat source
really is in use and it's not just electricity causing a heat source.
I
can't speak to 3.
With regards 2, if the energy used to produce the
available light is "less warm" then room temperature, and somehow the process is
drawing heat from the air to convert into light - that would work without
breaking part 2 of the second Law.
