What you say is true, and makes sense, but the fact is
that Nokia was slowly falling behind on the market.
Their board of directors made some egregious errors either
through greed, naivete, ignorance or malice. A fine company,
the pride of Finland, is slowly (or not so slowly) dying
before our eyes. Thousands of people are without jobs, the
money is fleeing Finland. Those people in the R&D departments
will never find similar jobs in Finland again.
A lot of people have been hurt. The government ministers
are squirming in their seats, and many fine programmers
and intellects are now flipping burgers.
Far do the mighty fall! But in this case it is *all*
self inflicted.
