Historically, Microsoft has hired people to act excited and enthusiastic at
product announcements and launches.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

That was me, PJ, not logged in by accident, and
no, I do not have any hard facts to substantiate
that opinion, just unrelated historical rumors
of paid astroturfers at MS announcement events,
and a knowledge that MS has a very strong tendency
to use old and proven patterns in marketing.
I normally wouldn't be so quick to accuse anyone,
but I just can't imagine someone honestly being
quite that animatedly excited over this release,
or being that noisy and obnoxious and not being
told to shut up, unless he was asked to behave
like that. It was nothing but a strong hunch, and
the "apparently" in my post should be read as
"in my largely unsubstantiated but firmly held
opinion, it looks like".
Sorry, but my stomach just turns on fake excitement
when I see it, and I still think I saw it there.
Perhaps Facebook can help with tracking down the
person using face recognition, and we'll see
whether he is some actor for hire or a real fan?
