It strikes me that an election manifesto is a politician's statement of what he
will do if you agree to vote for him.
That seems to be remarkably similar to a contract. So if a pol fails to keep to
his manifesto, the contract should be void. He's out of a seat.
Oh, if only...

Two years ago, right now, the G20 met in Toronto. A lot of people's rights were
ignored and "laws" created for the occasion, that were later ruled
illegal. Many people were illegally detained without cause and yet
"protesters" managed to trash the downtown core with little
interference from police.
