No, now we are looking to penalize you for drinking soda. Some places are
outlawing jumbo sized drinks.
I was 340 lbs due to RA. I went on disability, OD'd on morphine, and finally a
doctor discovered my testosterone was low. It was 4, not 600+ like it should
be. Low testosterone is suspected to lead to depression in men. A year after
treatment I joined a gym, got a trainer, and lost 100 lbs.
There are many reasons that we are obese. Some people need to blame someone
else. Some feel the need to get rich off of other's disabilities. If we blame
Pepsi and Coke for people being over weight, lawsuits will fly like they do for
drugs. The price of Pepsi and Coke will go up 20x in order to pay for the
liability insurance. And the sick, obese person, will get very little of Coke's
money.
Diet and exercise are only part of the problem for some of us. If you see
someone that is obese don't automatically assume that it is their fault. Lend
them a hand if they need it. My trainers have been nothing but supporting. One
of my previous trainers saw a picture of me at 340 and couldn't believe the
progress I've made (and am still working at). He's even volunteered some of his
time to work with me (trainers are $90 an hour here).
